Apple’s frameworks, everywhere you need them.
Over the years we have written the libraries our products need, and published every one of them. Build with Cocoa-style APIs in Swift on Apple platforms, then take the same model to Linux servers, Windows desktops and the browser — with ports in TypeScript and JavaScript, and native Swift implementations of the core frameworks.
SEC 01 / one model, four platforms
Write it once in the Apple way. Run it where your users are.
01
Apple
macOS, iOS and iPadOS apps on the native frameworks, plus our own extensions and tools around Core Data.
02
Linux server
The same Swift data model on the server: Core Data, a server kit, database drivers and an ORM.
03
Windows UI
Native Swift implementations of UIKit, Core Graphics and Core Animation take the interface beyond Apple.
04
Web
Cocoa and Cocoa Touch in TypeScript and JavaScript, Core Data in the browser, and a Swift-to-JavaScript transpiler.
SEC 02 / foundation
A compatibility layer between platforms.
The base every other library builds on: one set of APIs that behaves the same on every OS we target.
SEC 03 / core data, everywhere
Core Data on any platform, on any store.
A cross-platform implementation of Apple’s Core Data, persistent stores backed by SQL databases and web APIs, and the tooling around the model.
SEC 04 / native ui ports
Apple’s UI frameworks, rewritten in Swift.
Native Swift implementations of the frameworks behind every Apple interface, so the same UI code can run outside Apple platforms.
SEC 05 / the web
Cocoa and Core Data in the browser.
Ports of the UI and Core Data written directly in TypeScript and JavaScript, plus a Swift-to-JavaScript transpiler so Swift code can run on the web.
SEC 06 / server
Swift on the server.
The pieces behind our own production backends: a server kit, authentication and cloud storage.
SEC 07 / databases & orm
One API for the standard database engines.
A SQL query builder with drivers for the major engines. Combined with MIOCoreData and MIOPersistentStore it becomes a full ORM.
SEC 08 / documents & media
PDFs, spreadsheets, reports and images.
Wrappers around proven C libraries, plus our own reporting SDK, for generating documents on the server or on device.
SEC 09 / tooling
Tools that set it all up.
A command-line generator that sets up new projects on the stack in seconds.
